About

I make oil paintings that are intimate studies of inanimate objects. My work focuses on the beauty and complexity of the mundane, and reflects the personal relationship developed through the act of careful observation. The images are made from observation of subjects, rather than photographs. The examination and documentation of minute detail in the paintings works in conjunction with the energy of visible gesture to produce images that are intimate and lively rather than clinical. The work encourages the viewer to acknowledge the world of information available in even the most commonplace of objects.
